About the Long Beach YEP

The Young Entrepreneur Project (YEP) is is a free of charge 6-week long business program facilitated by an instructor with guest speakers from the business community presenting weekly case studies. The program is designed to be hands-on with real world learning that will keep a student engaged from start to finish. Within this program, students are involved in every aspect of running a business, including marketing, accounting, product development, production, distribution, sales, social media, web site development and international trade. This simulation will enable LBCC, CSULB and new small business owners to understand how employees, teams, and departments interact and work together for the overall success of the company.  Additionally, students will have the opportunity to listen to and speak with five or more speakers throughout the course of the program. The speaker guest list will likely include local business owners, a lawyer, an international trade specialist, an HR Manager, and an SBDC consultant with experience in business operations. These talks will give students practical insight into running a successful business in the real world.
